We take great pride in presenting this innovative and exciting recognition program to acknowledge the youth in our community, who have made outstanding contributions to the community through volunteer work. By recognizing these exceptional volunteers, the Leaders of Tomorrow Awards will inspire other youth to give of themselves to the benefit of their community. This year the Awards Ceremony featuring a Brunch will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at St. Albert Alliance Church Hall. Tickets for this event are $20 per person and will be available for purchase at CIVC. Please take the time to complete a nomination form as it is so important to recognize our valuable Leaders of Tomorrow. Remember, please provide as much information as possible about the volunteer contributions of your nominee to ensure our selections committee can make an appropriate choice!

NOMINATION PROCEDURE:

Using the official nomination form, information must be printed or typed and be as comprehensive as possible, with extra pages attached as required.

• No personal presentations will be considered.
• The selection committee will notify finalists and their nominator(s) of their selection. Winners will receive 2 (two) complimentary tickets to the Volunteer Citizen of the Year/Leaders of Tomorrow Awards Ceremony.

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION:

• Nominees may be individuals or groups who:
• are residents of St. Albert
• exhibit dedication, excellence, and have a positive impact in any field of volunteer work including: school; church; community; athletics; fine arts
• The nominee’s activities may have taken place at any time, in any locale
• Nominees chosen as Leaders of Tomorrow will be announced prior to the Volunteer Citizen of the Year/Leaders of Tomorrow Awards Ceremony on May 3, 2008 and must be available to attend the event.

CONSIDERATIONS:

In choosing our Leaders of Tomorrow, the selection committee considers:

• the scope of volunteerism
• the means by which such contribution was initiated or pursued
• the number of hours per week and/or month dedicated to each activity
• the effectiveness (results) of the contribution
• whether the volunteer activities inspire the spirit of volunteerism in other youth
