FREE Babysitting Referral Services

What is it?

A database registry containing information on:

  • Clients looking for sitters
  • Adults interested in babysittting children in their home or yours
  • Teens interested in babysitting

How does it work?

  1. Come in to our office and register as a client or sitter:
    • Adult sitters are 18 years of age and over
    • Teens are aged 12 to 17 years
    • All teens under the age of 16 must be certified and have taken the Alberta Safety Council Babysitter's Course
  2. Once registered, give us your requirements for a sitter
  3. We enter your requirements and provide you with a list of potential sitters

Please note, although we provide you with the references as supplied by the clients or sitters, we assume no responsibility for checking those references.

How to Register as a Client

  1. Complete a client registration form. All fields must be completed. A full name and address is required for our files for the references which you provide.
    • Come in person during office hours or..
    • Print the form at home, fill in all fields except your signature and bring it to our centre during office hours.
    • Sorry but if you do not come in person, we are unable to register you as a client. Your signature on the form must be witnessed by our staff.
  2. Once you have registered, you need only phone for any future referrals to potential sitters

How to Register as a Sitter

  1. Complete a sitter registration form. All fields must be completed. A full name and address is required for our files for the references which you provide.
    • Come in person during office hours or..
    • If you are 18 years or older, print the adult form at home, fill in all fields except your signature and bring it to our centre during office hours. Your signature on the form must be witnessed by our staff.
    • If you are 12 - 17 years, print the teen form at home, fill in all fields, have your parent/guardian sign the form and bring it to our centre during office hours. If you are under the age of 16, you should be able to provide your certificate from the Alberta Safety Council Babysitter's Course.
  2. Once you have registered, we will refer clients to you as a sitter.
  3. If you decide to stop sitting or have any other changes to your personal preferences or information, please let us know so we can update our records.
